Unforget Coming soon to the Chrome Web Store

Find any bookmark by what the page said.

You remember a phrase, not the title or the folder you put it in. Unforget reads the pages you’ve bookmarked, right inside Chrome, and brings back the one that said it, with your words marked.

A Chrome extension for desktop Coming soon to the Chrome Web Store No account, no server

It remembers what the page said, so you don’t have to.

No folders to keep tidy and no tags to add. Save pages the way you already do, and find them by whatever stuck with you.

  1. It reads your bookmarks

Unforget fetches each bookmarked page and keeps its text in an index inside Chrome. New bookmarks are read as you save them, and Library health shows what has been read, what is waiting and what couldn’t load.

  2. You type what you remember

A phrase from the middle of an article, a word from a recipe, the name of a site. Type @ and a site or folder name to look in one place, or add @recent to put the newest first.

  3. The passage comes first

Each result leads with the lines that matched, your words marked, so you recognise the page by what it said. When nothing matches, “Did you mean” offers the word your pages actually use.

Wherever you are in Chrome, it’s a keystroke away.

The side panel, the toolbar, the address bar and the keyboard are four ways in to the same library, and the address bar finds and orders pages just like the side panel.

  • Side panel

Stays open beside the page you’re reading, in every window, with Search, Read Later, AI Chat and Dashboard one tab apart.

    ⌥Mopens it

  • Toolbar button

Click Unforget’s star next to the address bar for a quick search, then carry on in the side panel or the full page.

  • Address bar

Type the keyword, then search as you type. Enter opens the top result.

Everything else is there to get you back to a page.

Search is the product. The rest keeps your library worth searching, and every change it makes can be undone.

4 moreEach a tab or a keystroke away

  • Read Later

Save the page you’re on with ⌘⇧S and read it when you’re ready. To read, Archived, Read and Recently deleted lists, each one searchable.

  • Dashboard

Library health in one screen: pages that couldn’t load, tried again for you; duplicates; bookmarks you haven’t opened in over a month; untitled ones named from their own page.

A tab in the side panel

  • Recently deleted and backups

A bookmark you delete, here or in Chrome’s own bookmark manager, is kept for 7 days with its folder and page text. Back up to a file whenever you like; after 30 days without one, Unforget offers a reminder.

    Dashboard and Settings

  • AI Chat optional

Ask your bookmarks a question and get the matching pages and passages back. Answers come from your saved pages, on your device, with Chrome’s built-in AI where your Chrome has it.

Your library stays on your computer.

Unforget has no account and no server of its own. It reads your pages in your browser and keeps what it learns there. The two features that would share more start off, and each one says what it shares where you turn it on.

Stays on this device

  • Your index and your lists The text of every page Unforget reads, your Read Later list, Recently deleted and your AI Chat history.
  • Reading without your sign-in Pages are fetched without your cookies, so a page behind a login isn’t read in the background. Sign-out, unsubscribe and confirm links, and addresses on your own network, are never fetched.
  • Browsing history, if you keep it on Ranks the pages you open often and finds forgotten bookmarks, on this device only. Turn it off in Settings › Privacy.

Only if you turn it on

  • Index pages that need a sign-in Sends your Chrome cookies with each fetch, only to that page’s own site, so pages behind a login become searchable. This setting never syncs.
  • Sync what Unforget has read A short summary of each page travels through Chrome sync to your other computers. Never the full text, and never pages read with your sign-in.
  • Backups A file you export, saved where you choose. Page text stays out of it.

No analytics, no tracking, no ads. Your settings, saved searches and pinned pages do use Chrome’s sync storage, so Chrome copies them to your other computers if you use Chrome sync. This page keeps the same promise: no cookies, and nothing loads from anywhere but this site.

Unforget's Settings, headed “No account needed. Chrome sync may copy these settings.” Under Privacy, “Use browsing history” is on and stays on this device; “Index pages that need a sign-in” and “Sync what Unforget has read” are off.

What’s new

Version 12.85.12

  • One edge, one rhythm: every screen lines up on the same side margin and spaces its sections the same way.
  • Focus you can see: keyboard focus shows clearly on every control, in light and dark.
  • Easier to hit, easier to read: small buttons take a press from further away, and text cut short shows in full on hover.

Version 12.85.11

  • Did you mean: a search that finds nothing offers the word your pages use, in the side panel, the popup, the address bar and AI Chat.
  • Recently deleted catches every deletion: also those made in Chrome’s bookmark manager, and a deleted folder comes back whole, in order.
  • Read Later keeps what you’ve read: a Read list you can search.

Version 12.85.10

  • Sync what Unforget has read, if you want: on another computer signed in to the same Chrome profile, your pages are searchable in seconds instead of being read again. Off until you turn it on.
  • Private by default: pages read with your sign-in are never synced, and without a Chrome sign-in nothing leaves this device.
  • A tidier Undo message: what happened on one line with the page’s name, the note under it.

Version 12.85.9

  • Find the pages you visit, not only your bookmarks: the address bar, side panel, popup and AI Chat list them when browsing history is on.
  • “@recent” puts anything newest first, and every row says when you saved or visited it.
  • Undo you can count on: several at once, ⌘Z, and a 7-day Recently deleted for bookmarks.

The same notes appear inside Unforget after each update.
